iheartland revolves around you
September 30th, 2008If the term ‘virtual worlds’ makes you think of hard-to-control characters flying round deserted 3D spaces, big empty places with nothing to do and with no connection to the rest of the internet, we wouldn’t be surprised. That’s what we thought too.
With apologies to the residents, we think lots of virtual worlds today are a bit like Milton Keynes. Someone’s built them, but there’s not a lot going on. So while you could live there, we thought it was time there was an online hangout that felt more like London - a diverse melting pot that gives people the tools and freedom to express themselves, meet likeminded people to socialise and have fun with, and provides a new way to discover more of whatever you’re interested in.
That’s why we’re building iheartland - the first virtual world that revolves around you: it’s going to be a place that reshapes itself around your mood, your interests, your friends, your style, your favourite content from all over the internet - whatever you’re in the mood for at any time.
We’re busy building iheartland at the moment, but you can stay up to date with what we’re up to (and get invites to our beta when the time comes) by subscribing to this blog, following us on Twitter, or leaving us your email.
